Sony VAIO JS1 Series All-in-One PC

October 27th, 2008

Sony’s cutting-edge JS1 all-in-one is truly a nice looking machine, but it’s jamming a lot of interesting tech too. Packing a 20.1″ 1680×1050 display, the Core2Duo system bears 3GB of memory and 500GB of storage. Audio plays through Dolby-based virtual surround sound and Sony’s unified Sound Reality chip can record, edit and play back SA-CD music.

The VAIO JS1-Series all-in-one PC appears to provide customers the inconceivable: it has a large, high-resolution screen, yet it draws less desk space than most notebooks. It attains this seeming contradiction by virtue of its sleek and fashionable design. The compact keyboard can be slotted underneath the main unit when busy, allowing only a modest footmark on the desk. In spite of its base space requirements, the JS1’s main unit integrates a liberally sized 20.1-inch screen make out with multiple lamp technology for surpassing luminance.

Pantech Matrix Dual Slider - A Phone For Texters And Emailers

October 27th, 2008

Unlike last year’s WInMo-running Pantech Duo, the Matrix prefers for a squarer dumbphone interface while adding 3G HSDPA, GPS and a slick looking design into the mix.

For an $80 phone, the Pantech Matrix is actually sound deal. Pantech could have skimped on the build quality and thrust out an inexpensive, light phone, but rather produced a product that finds solid and slides smoothly in any direction. Despite being about an inch thick, the Matrix doesn’t feel oversized—they made it as narrow and short as possible so that it doesn’t feel too clumsy. As an outcome, the Matrix rides nicely in the hand, and when the backlit keyboard is brought out, it almost feels sleek. And though buttons aren’t physically apart, each one has a bit of a bubble on it that gives a dainty click when you press down.

Combination Of Intel And NetEffect Technology

October 27th, 2008

Intel has acquired NetEffect, a manufacturer of Ethernet products and technologies for server computing clusters, for $8 million in cash. In purchasing NetEffect, Intel acquires the company’s products integrating iWarp, an Ethernet choice to InifiniBand, which is a flipped fabric communications link used generally in high-performance computing. NetEffect’s product portfolio includes 1-Gb and 10-Gb Ethernet adapters for servers and blade contours, as well as 10-GbE application-specific microcircuits.

Intel said NetEffect’s technology complement the chipmaker’s portfolio of 10-GbE server adapters, which include single- and dual-port versions for copper and fiber executions. The combination of Intel and NetEffect technology will provide Intel to address customers’ most crucial 10 Gigabit Ethernet demands, including server virtualization, convergence of network and storage traffic, and server compute clusters.

The area of concentration for Intel’s 10-GbE technology is host virtualization, which demands a storage area network or network-attached depot to classify workloads from data.
